On behalf of the Society of Chinese Bioscientistis in America (SCBA), I am delighted to invite you to participate in the 15th SCBA International Symposium to be held June 26-29, 2015 in Taipei. SCBA was established in 1984, and is the largest and a rapidly growing professional organization for scientists, mostly of Chinese descent, in many biomedical disciplines in United States and Canada. It also has a significant number of members residing and working in Asia and Europe. Many of our members are leaders in their respective scientific fields and are making high impacts and major contributions through innovative research and passionate educational endeavors. SCBA is a driving force in strengthening scientific and educational interactions among SCBA members and other colleagues at all levels by organizing high-profile international conferences and promoting the visibility of our society, in addition to traditional society activities and functions.
The theme of the 2015 SCBA International Symposium is Scientific Discovery for Human Health. A star cast of speakers including Nobel laureate Dr. Thomas Steitz and 14 members of the United States National Academy of Sciences or Institute of Medicine, the Academia Sinica and the Chinese Academy of Sciences will participate as Keynote or Plenary Speakers. We foresee the 2015 Symposium to highlight exciting and valuable scientific progresses in the biological and biomedical sciences for the improvement of human health. It will provide excellent opportunities for vigorous interactions among outstanding biological scientists worldwide.
In addition to the Keynote and Plenary Speakers, there will be over 200-worldclass invited speakers of 10 disciplines, including: 1) Biotechonology and Biopharmacology, 2) Cancer Research, 3) Gene Regulation and RNA Biology, 4) Genomic Biology and Genetic Diseases, 5) Immunity, Infection and Inflammation, 6) Metabolic Diseases, 7) Neuroscience, Aging and Degenerative Diseases, 8) Plant Biology and Agricultural Sciences, 9) Stem Cell, Gene and Cell Therapy, and 10) Technology Development. All interested bioscientists and colleagues are welcome to join our Symposium and to present their works in these areas. We are striving to accomplish SCBA missions including providing the best forums for our members and fellow scientists for (1) networking, (2) professional and scientific interactions, and (3) education for junior members.
The beautiful city of Taipei is a well-balanced international destination with a blend of contemporary and traditional culture. It is well known for its abundance of unique local cuisines as well as the endless cultural attractions. We have arranged numerous social events for accompanying family members and post-symposium tours to make your stay in Taipei a memorable moment in your life.
We sincerely welcome and appreciate your participation in the 15th SCBA International Symposium. We are looking forwards to seeing you in Taipei in June of 2015!
Respectfully yours,
Dihua Yu, M.D., Ph.D.
SCBA President (2014-2015) |
